Yes.

Safer than I would feel in a Republican controlled state if I were a teacher in a classroom, or if I attended a medium-sized conservative church on a Sunday morning, or went out to enjoy an evening dining experience on a crowded street with a lot of nighttime activity.

Oh, by the way, I live in Chicago, Illinois.

i'm so sick of hearing about crime. it's nothing like when i moved here in the 80's.

i'm sick of what it does to property values in my hood. some of the best housing in the city, but also some of the cheapest. ridiculous.
so laughable that ppl point at my urban farm and squeal about the value of their homes.
ftr, i know of 3 families that bought on my block because of my farm.
