An Oath Keeper thought the Electoral College was a place where politicians 'went to get educated,' defense lawyer says at trial

https://www.businessinsider.com/oath-keeper-electoral-college-politicians-educated-trial-seditious-conspiracy-capitol-2022-11

Standing before the jury Thursday, defense lawyer Bradley Geyer hoped his client would forgive him for the story he was about to share in the trial of five Oath Keepers charged with plotting to prevent the peaceful transfer of power on January 6, 2021.

When he met Kenneth Harrelson more than a year ago, Geyer said, the Oath Keepers member hardly knew of the institutions or processes involved in the certification of the 2020 election.

"He didn't know there was a House of Representatives and a Senate. He didn't know anything about the Electoral College," Geyer said, adding that Harrelson thought at the time it was a place where "politicians went to get educated or whatever."

That’s not helpful. Ignorance of Democracy isn’t a plea. I bet his client resisted public school. “I don’t need no education. I don’t need no self control!”

Remember SENATOR Tuberville thought the three branches of government were POTUS, the House, and the Senate.

He was there to disrupt, with violence, the lawfully elected government of the United States.

He knew he was disrupting something governmental. He knew he was planning/using violence. That's enough, for me anyway.

He doesn't need to have the knowledge of a constitutional/legal scholar to meet any intent requirements of the charges he is facing. How would anyone ever be convicted of anything if that were the standard?

You beat me to it.
His “forensic analysis” of the election indicated fraud, but he had no idea how elections worked?
Hopefully he can read up on it in the prison library.
