Congresswoman Puts Anti-Trans Activist on the Spot: 'Do You Really Believe That Garbage?'
https://jezebel.com/balint-hearing-anti-trans-you-really-believe-garbage-1850515961"Every single hearing that I am in...witnesses find a way to bring in trans children into whatever conversation were trying to have," Rep. Becca Balint said.

The House Oversight Committee was holding a hearing on the effects of environmental, social and governance (ESG), a corporate strategy intended to lessen the negative effects of business. But of course, conservative activists want to make it part of the culture war, which is exactly what Mandy Gunasekara, director of the Independent Womens Forums Center on Energy and Conservation, testified to at the hearing, submitting a statement that said, ESG is a tool to advance the Lefts broader cultural agenda like efforts to promote gender transitions for children. Remember, this is a corporate strategy we are talking about.
By the time Balint was called on for questioning, shed had it.
One of the things that you said in [the information] you provided is that the dangers of ESG include promoting gender transitions in children, she said. And I want to know, do you really believe that garbage?
Its not about believing, its a matter of fact, Gunasekara replied.
So you believe that investing strategies are actually...weaponized to support and promote gender transition for children? Balint said. Is, essentially, is that what youre saying, or do you just use it as another opportunity to beat up on children?

Nazis got to hate!

(47,282 posts)will never be happy PERIOD. If there were no trans people, they'd find something else to hate. It is all about the hate, not any particular issue. They need to be adversarial and combative at all times and most of the time, they're just making this shit up. That's probably because they don't really know how to govern and aren't interested in learning.
It's as if an entire political party is made up of people with personality disorders.

(8,907 posts)repukes use this strategy of targeting (insert group here) because they know their base is easily-manipulated....simply put, IT WORKS
PatSeg
(47,282 posts)They're just playing the base. If you go back 30 or 40 years, they were saying almost identical things about some other group. Of course in addition, they always talked about cutting taxes and reducing the debt - wink, wink. It is truly amazing that people keep falling for it.

turns out Balint had just met with parents of trans children who prevailed on her to push back on the incessant battering that's coming from the hateful right, and damned if she didn't get the opportunity immediately.

Should have made her answer that, then ripped her on it, showing how the investment strategies have nothing to do with it.
