"Bleeding cash": Trump machine diverting millions in campaign funds to mounting legal fees

Donald Trump's political machine has helped foot the bill for the legal expenses of more than a dozen people swept up in his criminal investigations, dolling out millions of dollars that could otherwise go toward his 2024 presidential bid.

"Trump's campaign machine is bleeding cash for legal expenses," Reuters reports. From interviews and a review of court records and campaign finance reports, Reuters has identified 13 potential witnesses or co-defendants who were represented by law firms that received payments from Trump's Save America super PAC. Those payments were disclosed in the finance reports as general payments to entities rather than specific compensation to individuals.

Couldn’t he just make one five-second spot, broadcast once, telling his howler-monkey followers to show at the polls and vote for him? Campaign over?

It’s not like the below-averages need a lot of convincing.

it's not like he's an unknown trying to get his policy ideas out there. In fact, at this point... you're already either for him, or against him. There is no one in this country undecided where he's concerned, I believe. Or, at least, I would hope. In fact, I would daresay, I hope there are more people that the more he talks would turn against him.

And more money to make sure the right troughs are filled. You don't believe anyone important is actually loyal to him, do you? You think his kids are hanging around because of familial love?

Plus.. he's got personal expenses. And his legal troubles aren't nearly done.
