What's the difference between January 6 Insurrection and Ft. Sumter? No one died at Ft. Sumter.

Stuart Stevens

A couple of years ago, when there was still hope that America might not send a corrupt felon back to the White House, I wrote a book called, The Conspiracy To End America: Five Ways My Old Party Is Driving Democracy to Autocracy. I wrote it because I was struck by the pattern of democratic collapse that had emerged within my old party.

Whenever a democracy slides into autocracy, five critical elements are at work. All of these are active in American politics today. The tendency is to examine each as if it is an isolated phenomenon, troubling perhaps, but manageable by the American system. This illusion is the hope of the autocrats and a potentially fatal mistake. Each of these is part of a greater whole that together threatens the existence of the American experiment. The five autocratic building blocks are:

• Propagandists

• Support of a major party

• Financiers

• Legal theories to legitimize actions

• Shock troops

Since Trump reemerged, all of these factors have been in motion at an ever-accelerating pace. Fox News is only the tip of a massive ecosystem that spreads lies. The social media company owned by a reported heavy illegal drug abuser from South Africa is far more dangerous. The Republican Party has completely collapsed as a normal American political party. There is unlimited money available to further Trumpism, as the above-mentioned reported heavy drug user proved with a $275 million contribution to a man he now says should be impeached. The Supreme Court has ruled that it is legal for the President of the United States to order the execution of other judges if it is part of his official duties.

I believe should we get this country back on track on the Founder's grand experiment, the Republican party, as a whole, should be declared a terrorist organization. They've done more damage than ISIS to the U.S., and Bin Laden must be laughing with his 72 virgins at what he began and how the republicans took up his sword and carried forth with it.

We have an organization that tracks terrorist groups such as Proud Boys and other militias and nazi's. The Republican party fits right into this milieu. Especially since they organized, supported, and helped carry out the first ever coup in the United States on Jan 6. If that's not an enemy party, what is?

Furthermore, by using National Guard and our own military as shock troops against the American People they are the epitome of a terror group.

We're going to have a lot of work to do to get this country back on track. It'll be decades before the rest of the world ever trusts us again. Ask Germany what they went through after WWII. And, because of the Nazi's supported by people like Musk, trump, Thiel, Miller, and especially Bannon, look what Germany is having to fight all over again? Even tho they were smart enough to put down laws against this kind of thing happening again.

If the Democratic party had been a part of anything like this, they'd have been legally disbanded and shot on sight. I made a comment in an earlier message and someone replied to me. I asked if the branch of govt tasked with carrying out the laws of the other 2 branches say "screw you" what do we do? Someone answered me... "Vigilante Justice." We may be getting to that point. I don't want a civil war, but it's clear the other side does in the worst possible way. I've already decided there is way too much history I don't know enough about, and plan to rectify that situation. I know there were low points where the highest ideals and laws were pushed aside because the other side fought against them. After the Civil War... Reconstruction failed. After WWII, obviously the best laid plans were a failure as we see now with Israel and the surrounding countries. It's time to read more about WHY these ideals failed and how. And to think critically about how we can avoid the same mistakes in the future. It's too easy to say "shoot them all." And I'm absolutely not beyond saying "deport them to countries that support their ideologies." But I honestly don't think any of them is preferable or achievable. So, what is? I believe the first step is to declare enemies of the state who have shown they ARE enemies of the state... even if they live here.
