Protests or Riots? Right-wing Media Is Spreading Trump Propaganda. Again.

Here are two headlines about the very same story. One is telling you the truth, the other is spinning Trump propaganda:
LA protests: Trump sends thousands more troops in authoritarian move
US Marines to deploy to Los Angeles to help quell anti-ICE riots
The first is a more accurate version of events from the non-profit, fact-based journalism outlet, The Guardian US. The other? Its by Fox, the Murdoch empires flagship and Donald Trumps most powerful media partner.

(51,849 posts)Reminds me of my ass-kissing sister.
We had an abusive, authoritarian father, who used to say, "I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong."
And at age 20, my sister cheerfully repeated, "Dad may not always be right, but he's never wrong." It was the closest I ever came to hitting her.

(40,957 posts)I think many of them fully expected hoards of antifa to show up so they could mow them down with their weapons. They are still fantasizing about that. I believe it didnt happen because we are sensible people and antifa is something they made up their mind to be an enemy. I think this is going to turn out to be a dud as well as far as the violence they are craving. Ive been to a few recent demonstrations. Its old people. Its young kids, dogs, everything, theres no riots.
