'Filming ICE is one of the most American things you can do right now -- no matter what DOJ says'd

"An ICE agent shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on Jan. 7, 2026. He shot her in the head while she was inside her car. She was 37 years old, and a mother of three."

"Those facts are fixed. Also fixed: the video footage from multiple cameras, including the ICE agent’s own cell phone camera, which quickly provided politicians, law enforcement and the public with multiple angles of the scene before, during and after the deadly encounter. Trump administration officials are demanding that the public accept that Good 'weaponized' her vehicle, that the shooting was 'self-defense' and that questioning this version of events endangers law enforcement."

"Although an FBI probe is ongoing, the Justice Department has already said it does not believe there is currently any basis to open a criminal civil rights investigation into Good’s killing. This is a deeply unsettling and exasperating moment for those of us who care about police accountability, truth and justice. We have been here before with the police killings of Eric Garner, Philando Castile and George Floyd — and the many lesser-known killings also caught on camera. We have seen clear video, watched it again and again, and still justice is delayed or never comes."

"After all of this, it’s easy to conclude that filming doesn’t matter. I don’t believe that. I’ve seen what happens when video exists, and I’ve seen what happens when it doesn’t. More often than not, it feels like video is the only thing standing between a lie and a life being ruined by it. And the government seems to know it. Just a few days ago, a government lawyer in Minnesota federal court proposed the radical argument that observing police is not protected by the Constitution."

I saw a video recently taken by a woman whose DoorDash delivery driver had run inside her house -- ICE had shown up and tried to snatch the delivery driver. ICE wanted to enter the house, and of course didn't have a warrant. The woman refused to let them in and called 911. The local sheriff's department told her that she should just obey ICE, and that nobody from the department would be showing up to help.

This left the woman -- in her own home -- with a DoorDash delivery driver in the basement, and masked, armed men outside demanding to be let inside. She didn't want to release the delivery driver, who was basically paralyzed with fear at that point, but she also didn't want to have her front door smashed in and her house ransacked by armed, warrantless thugs just because she'd decided to order takeout.

What seemed to end the standoff was that as the situation progressed, neighbors started coming out their homes to see what was going on, and a large crowd of locals, all filming the situation, began to gather. At that point, ICE backed off and left.

The local police did nothing to help the woman whose home was being trespassed. What saved the day were regular people with cellphones.

I applaud the people who have the guts to document what ICE is doing.

Agree wholeheartedly, sop... but Americans can do a lot more to regain control over the madness!

One year into the Trump administration, not one branch of government-- Legislative, Judicial, or especially, Executive-- is adequately performing its official oath to defend&protect democracy and the Constitution. Today, the country’s greatest threat is domestic-- from a lying, demented, insane Executive branch; courts that are either hedging their bets, not acting decisively enough, or not defining and enforcing guaranteed sanctions if their rulings are ignored; and a Congress largely in thrall to a fascist administration and its advisors.

America’s best defense (if it ever wants to enjoy another free and fair election) is for every Democrat, Independent and Republican who has had enough of the administration’s dangerous insanity to speak out loudly, en mass, and all at once. To tell Congress and the Courts that their future jobs hang on doing what the majority of the people want… and not follow the illegal demands of an infantile leader.

It is easily done! Immediately and repeatedly:

• Phone the Congressional Switchboard-- (202) 224-3121. Tell your Capitol Hill Representatives and Senators that they will be “primaried” by the people themselves if they don’t immediately:
◦ Release the Epstein files with minimal redactions (and Trump’s name only redacted if he himself was a victim of abuse).
◦ Regain complete control over the federal purse strings.
◦ Retake their Constitutional control over War Powers and acts.
◦ Drastically slash funding to ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (until they stop attacking and even killing Americans).
◦ Launch impeachment proceedings against (initially) Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth… for violating Americans’ Constitution, laws and civil rights.
◦ Impeach Trump if he attacks, invades or otherwise tries to “take over” Greenland or any other sovereign nation.

• Then, send duplicate messages to the same Representatives and Senators via emails and online Contact forms.
• And do the same for local state legislators.

This administration must be reminded-- broadly, loudly and repeatedly-- that despite their delusional leader’s constant lies, he did NOT win a “mandate” in 2024. He won by one of the tiniest margins in history. Margins so small that they’re “unlike anything anybody has ever seen before.”

And finally (for now), share this with other media and forums-- to spread the word as far and fast as possible!
