Jeffrey Epstein Filed a FOIA Request About Surveillance in 2014
The request to Customs and Border Protection sought documents that would shed light on how, why, or when Epstein was selected to be a subject of any such monitoring, surveillance, observation, questioning, interrogation, investigation.

Epsteins FOIA request
Interestingly, between 2013 and 2014, around the time Indyke filed the FOIA request, there wasnt much news around Epstein. Hed been a free man for more than four years after signing a non-prosecution agreement with the DOJ. And although some of his victims were embroiled in a civil lawsuit against the DOJ related to the deal, Epstein had returned to hobnobbing with prominent academics, politicians and bankers and, according to his victims and federal prosecutors, continued to sexually abuse underage girls.
Its clear Epstein wasnt fishing for documents. He requested a very specific set of records covering a one-year timeframe (Nov. 1, 2013 to Nov. 6, 2014) that he said would shed light on why he was scrutinized by CBP.

Indyke may ultimately be compelled to respond to questions about the FOIA requests, and more. Earlier this month, the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Indyke and Richard Kahn, Epsteins accountant and the co-executor of his estate, to sit for a deposition.
Survivors have shared with the Committee that Indyke and Kahn knew about Epsteins abuse and helped facilitate his crimes through their management of his legal and financial affairs, Representative Robert Garcia, the committees ranking Democrat, said in a statement on Jan. 7.
