Epstein survivors join Democrats to press for accountability hours before State of the Union

(snip)

In total, a dozen Epstein survivors will attend Trump’s speech in the House chamber, at the invitation of more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers.

Sky and Amanda Roberts, the brother and sister-in-law of the late Virginia Roberts Giuffre, respectively, will also attend at the invitation of Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin (Md.), Suzanne Bonamici (Ore.) and Suhas Subramanyam (Va.). A seat in the chamber will be left open at Tuesday’s speech for Giuffre, who died by suicide last year.

“When the president makes his speech tonight, he is going to know that looking back at him will be numerous survivors of Epstein’s abuse and that he is facilitating the single largest cover-up in modern American history,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said, to applause.

Lawmakers in New Mexico have also opened a probe into Epstein’s activities in the state, where he owned a ranch roughly 30 miles outside Santa Fe.
