Restrictions: Employees cannot engage in political activity while on duty, in a federal building, using federal resources (computers, email), or wearing a uniform.
Prohibited Activities: Prohibitions include running for partisan office, soliciting political contributions, or using official authority to influence elections.
Coverage: It applies to most federal employees, including postal workers, even while on leave. The President, Vice President, and uniformed services are exempt.
Penalties: Violations can result in removal from employment, reduction in grade, suspension, or civil penalties.
