Clinton's Epstein Testimony Derailed the GOP's Gotcha Politics
For some reason, House Republicans on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee thought it was a good idea to depose former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of their investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a man the former first lady says she never met. This unsurprisingly to anyone familiar with Clintons record in such settings didnt go well for Republicans.
The GOP line of questioning apparently included references to UFOs and the Pizzagate conspiracy theory. It was briefly interrupted when a MAGA influencer posted a picture of Clinton provided by Representative Lauren Boebert, a breach of the agreed-upon rules and a sign of the unserious gotcha politics at play.
Clinton has long been a Republican obsession, from Whitewater to Benghazi, to her use of a private email server as Secretary of State and the lock her up chants that animated Trumps first run for the White House. Yesterdays testimony provided another entry in this litany of examples. It was much more about putting on a show for MAGA than about investigating Epsteins horrific crimes against girls and young women.
.............
That move now seems to be backfiring on Republicans. The GOP has shown itself to be more interested in partisan retribution than in uncovering the full truth. No new information was gathered from Clinton, and the Republican attempts at humiliating Clinton only highlighted their failure to focus on people who were actually in Epsteins orbit.

But before we start, I have to get personal. You made Hillary come in. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing. She has no memory of even meeting him, She neither traveled with him nor visited any of his properties. Whether you subpoenaed 10 people or 10.000, including her was Simply not right.
I think it's called abuse of women for the sake of abuse.
A "real man (or other) would not stoop to such a gutter-gulping tactic.
My advice to President Clinton:
Don't get mad, get even.
Do all you can to toss this swill overboard just south of Novaya Zemlya.
I and others will help.
