If you want to understand how a Republic dies, you don’t look at the fringes of MAGA screeching on Twitter, or at some bleating Fox News hack, or at Mike Johnson’s House of cheering goons, or into J.D. Vance’s dead doll eyes.
Look at the criminals at the Department of Justice.
The sneering Todd Blanche, Ghislaine Maxwell’s legal sugar daddy. The grinning, soulless she-demon Pamela Jo Bondi, reveling in the agony of the Epstein victims. The drunken dwarf Kash Patel, using the big boy helper steps to board his taxpayer-funded jet to party with hockey players or to visit his girlfriend.
Look at the place on the MRI of Washington power where the cancer grows. Where the toxic, metastasizing peril consuming our nation is expanding, corrupting everything it touches. Look at the institutions that once served justice and now serve only Trump’s autocratic ends, his willful political revenge, his cash-and-carry pardon sales, his rampant theft, and his commitment to protecting himself and his allies.
