Humanity vs. Power: Minnesota is Not Alone - People of the World Wave at Each Other Across the Abyss

....Every mass protest in the United States is met with solidarity across the globe. Our inflatable frog can be seen marching in Europe. Citizens of Italy take to the streets during the Olympics to protest ICE. Hundreds of Swiss citizens light a message by torches in the mountains above Davos during the World Economic Forum. It says No Kings.

The American regime attacks another country as if relentlessly throwing foreign lives against a wall to see what will stick. Their new victim is a country where thousands of citizens flooded the streets for candlelight vigils after 9/11. They do this after kidnapping the leader of a country that once provided free heating oil to hundreds of thousands of poor US citizens. Just days ago our president posited the idea that he might take over the country that, deep under the American trade embargo once offered to send 1,586 doctors and 26 tons of medicine to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

They attack in the name of tyranny and sex trafficking and, as always oil, a substance we would barely need had it not been forced down our throats by robber barons long ago. Before cars were ever a phenomenon, Rudolf Diesel invented an absolute marvel of an engine that was cleaner, safer, more efficient, and more durable than internal combustion. And it didn’t need petroleum to run. In fact, the first engine he debuted at the World’s Fair in Paris ran on peanut oil. His vision was to uplift the working class and tackle pollution with this gift to humanity. But then, like now, the greed of powerful men superseded the welfare of humanity, and here we are.

We are not our leaders. We peek out from under their thumbs. The people of earth, sinking under a blanket of pollution and war and greed send flares to each other from across the abyss. We stand on rooftops, huddling in fragile safety from the flood, waving to each other to say,

You are not alone.
