Millions turn out for "No Kings" rallies held worldwide to protest against Trump

(CBS News) Crowds of people protested Saturday against the war in Iran and President Trump's actions, in "No Kings" rallies across the U.S. and in Europe. Minnesota took center stage, in what organizers said were mass demonstrations involving millions of people.

U.S. organizers had estimated that the first two rounds of No Kings rallies drew more than 5 million people in June and 7 million in October. On Saturday, they estimated that at least 8 million participants took part in more than 3,300 events worldwide.

Thousands of people stood shoulder-to-shoulder on the Minnesota Capitol lawn and surrounding streets in St. Paul. Some held upside down U.S. flags, historically a sign of distress.

The event's headliner was Bruce Springsteen, who performed "Streets of Minneapolis." He wrote the song in response to the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents and in tribute to the thousands of Minnesotans who took to the streets over the winter to protest the Trump administration's aggressive immigration enforcement.

... so the benefit would be lost.

It's better to catch them offguard in their home states and cities, where the voters can see the results. Local media won't forget - it gets more coverage locally than nationally. Democrats (in most areas) are better at pulling this off.

Locals. The visuals of a near empty mall with only a few kite flyers while the whole country protests were painful to see. Not sure why you think a protest is a confrontation with magats, dc is pretty devoid of them.

Unfortunately the number of protesters under age 50 decreased, under 30 way down. I’m no “age expert” by any means but I can say I wasn’t the only geezer (76) making that comment. If young people don’t get involved in massive numbers soon this ship is going to be impossible to turn around IMO.
