The Corrupt Reason Trump Really Launched this Iran War

The conflict in Iran is less about American national security and more about the Trump family’s kleptocracy.

There are many ways to describe Donald Trump’s war with Iran: reckless, illegal, destabilizing, grotesquely indifferent to the price paid by everyone else. But there is another word that now hangs over it like a toxic cloud and it has followed Trump through every casino bankruptcy, every hotel hustle, every crypto stunt and every pay-to-play photo op of his life: grift.

Once again, with the region on fire, with half the Middle East under missile and drone attack, with oil routes threatened and the global economy rattled, the Trump orbit is somehow finding a way to turn catastrophe into a revenue stream.

In short, there is concrete evidence that his family and its extended court are making billions off the carnage. It has every incentive to extend this war.

The original was registered by Joseph Edward Davies, an American politician and diplomat, in 1939. Davies was married to Marjorie Merriweather Post, the woman who built Mar-a-Lago. The Dotard undoubtedly saw it on stuff after he bought the place, and decided to use it all over his various properties but with integrity removed and his name in its place.
