Borowitz - Is Trump Like Napoleon?
Yes, but not that Napoleon.According to a new report in The Atlantic, Donald Trump thinks hes one of historys great conquerorslike Napoleon.
Hes been talking recently about how he is the most powerful person to ever live, a confidant said. He wants to be remembered as the one who did things that other people couldnt do, because of his sheer power and force of will.
I hate to break it to Delusional Don, but unless insulting Europe on Truth Social is the same thing as conquering it, hes no Napoleon.
But I do have a consolation prize for himand, as the first-ever recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize, he clearly cherishes those. Hes a lot like historys other Napoleon: the largely forgotten (for good reason) Napoleon III.

Good read. If you don't have the time. Napoleon III, the first Napoleon's nephew, seized power in France in the mid 19th century.
While the US was involved in the Civil War, he invaded Mexico and installed Maximilian of the Austrian Hapsburg family as Emperor. After the Civil War the US provided aid to the Mexican opposition and had troops stationed in Texas in case we needed to intervene.
Napoleon III withdrew his support pf Maximilian and Mexican troops under Benito Juarez were able to defeat and later execute him.
Napoleon III lost power later when he was captured by Prussian forces after invading that country in the Franco Prussian war.
Anyhow you can see the similarity Trump has with him.

(13,992 posts)Does the Pig think he is dictator, king, emperor. You bet he does. Ignores the Constitution, doesn't go to the GOP in Congress to get laws passed for his policies. Has a secret police and is carrying out ethnic cleansing. He is a malignant narcissist and he will not tolerate slight, challenge or contradiction. The legislative and judicial branches largely bow to his wishes and cover for him. His cultists worship as prophet and god.
Divine Right of Kings asserts that a monarch is not accountable to any earthly authority because their right to rule is derived from divine authority. The monarch is not subject to We the People.
Only divine authority can judge a monarch, and any attempt to question, contradict, resist or restrict their authority runs contrary to God's will.
