'Jill Biden tells MS NOW her husband would have beaten Trump if he had stayed in 2024 race'

Wasn't there a point in the 1984 race where Walter Mondale had a good week or two ... I remember him pounding his fist on the podium, in Pittsburgh IIRC, about the "God-awful nuk-u-ler weapons" which is how he pronounced it. And the polls moved about 6-7 points.

But on the other hand, a perceived bad debate performance sandbagged Mike Dukakis too.

Joe was popular and a competitor. If he had rallied, it wasn't impossible.

I don't get what purpose this serves. Biden himself did this after HRC's loss. With potential election meddling and at the very least sexism (and racism in Harris' case) involved, why??

Sometimes when we love somebody, we see what we want to see. The whole party saw what they wanted to see until the debate.

This isn't the time to revisit the 2024 election. Dems can look back and forward at the same time, but we need focus at the moment on the future. This book tour is a distraction we don't need right now. You have a voice and platform always (and I'll listen!), but it is about timing.

She's selling a book, has to make a "controversial" statement or two, attract media attention and increase sales. It seems to be working.

I also believe it does not matter. Biden showed poor judgement in running for a second term. The only person he could have beaten was trump.
We need to concentrate on the present and the future. The past is gone

which would have done Biden in, the past is still present and future. But maybe, talking to some with the anger motive how Biden was "forced out", those votes would have gone to Biden. How many and maybe? Useless speculation now.

But if he had announced he wasn't going to run by 2022 at the latest, the odds are better that Harris would have won.

And I will never forgive those who stabbed Biden in the back -- and by doing so, stabbed all of us in the back.
