Edward Snowden & the link to securing visas around the world
It's depressed me to read (and to see so many DUers agreeing ) the attacks in the US upon Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Bradley Manning : the persistent claims that all three are variously 'egotists', 'non-heroes' 'traitors' and so on.
There seems to be no problem that all three have exposed heinous crimes committed by their government- the manipulation of the media to invade and murder tens of thousands of innocents, the plot to gather and store information upon everyone where possible (and the fact it is world-wide and so many US citizens arrogantly ignore that other sovereign countries laws are made putty when the US decides it is in their interest to do so)
many things come to mind: the British philosopher Bertrand Russell predicted in the early 1960s that Russia and the US would gradually adopt each other's methods and reverse their positions.
It is always wrong to bring the Nazis into a discussion (apparently- who decided his ? ) but Adolf Hitler was correct and indeed should have been applauded for prosecuting and brutally murdering everyone involved in Operation Valkyrie. After all, they broke so many laws.
The US and allies routinely encourage and arm rebellions in the ME who plot to bring down lawful governments and yet support chosen dictators like those in Saudi Arabia.
