Massive Resistance

http://editors.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2013/07/massive_resistance.php

Fascinating article about how Republican Reps and Senators plan to respond to questions constituent service requests about Obamacare. The gist is most plan to say, ‘Hey, go ask Obama.’

Some great examples.

“Given that we come from Kansas, it’s much easier to say, ‘Call your former governor,’” said Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R), referring to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

“You say, ‘She’s the one. She’s responsible. She was your governor, elected twice, and now you reelected the president, but he picked her.’” Huelskamp said.

“We know how to forward a phone call,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah).

'It's not my job'?

That'll go over like a lead balloon. Keep digging, GOP.

Has anyone ever been in a store looking for a particular item, but just can’t seem to find it?

What would be your reaction to an employee saying, “I don’t know where they keep it … go ask someone else.”?

If HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is smart, she’ll be shifting resources to Customer Service lines … to include training in “how to keep a smile on one’s face when dealing with some not so nice folks” and know how to tell someone “you don’t have that answer, but will be happy to find out … would you prefer to hold, or can I have someone call you back?”
