Does anyone else smell a setup by House Republicans?

"The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned."

From the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution

"What happens if Congress doesn't act? Some opine, probably correctly, that the House will impeach Obama if he moves unilaterally on the debt ceiling after the House declines to act. But others argue that if the House does nothing, and Obama refuses to step in, impeachment would then indeed be appropriate.

"Obama should be impeached if the Congress allows a default and he does nothing," said Sean Willenz, a Princeton University history professor who has argued the merits of 14th Amendment action. "The president has taken a solemn oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. If he does not act in response to a blatant violation of the Constitution, then he will have violated his oath, and deserve to be impeached."

Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. I hope Obama acts!! Let the House impeach him. He'll be acquitted in the Senate anyway and he'll come out of this better than ever!! The Republicans didn't learn from the shutdown of 1996. What makes anyone think that they'll learn from the impeachment of President Clinton?

The media is the key.

If he lets the default happen, the media will blame him for not negotiating.

If he stops the default, the media will crucify him for being a dictator.

The media is the key. And the people don't have any say in the media. That ended long ago with the loss of anti-trust and the loss of the fairness doctrine.

I noticed that no outlet other than some leftwing columnists and lean left commentators on MSNBC are the only ones who point out Boner's lies.

I noticed that there's lots of arguments in the media to expand citizens united...only a couple of the same left leaning outlets say anything about it.

Just like the voting rights...

Just like...

Added on edit: And those left leaning outlets are marginalized by a rabid comment response on demand of the PRICs.

By those standards the congresscritters are equally guilty of malfeasance so need to be charged and tried also.

the impeachment polluted the election pool for Al Gore, and swung a lot of people who were fooled by B*sh's moderate act over to the Repukes.

I'm worried that impeachment and trial of President Obama, even if unsuccessful, will do the same thing in 2016.

The mood that I see is one of being fed up with the childish behavior of the GOP I believe that an attempt at impeachment would bring down the GOP in 2014!!!
