Good gawd, the makeup they troweled on those poor "lookers" was atrocious. They could barely move their eyes and lips or the whole thing would have cracked off. They might have been lookers but all the audience saw was a painted on mask. That worked well on a 12 inch set, not so well on anything bigger.

Yes, I've watched with the sound off and Radiohead cranked up. It's a real scream sometimes.
