I just don't see Sanford losing this, in most cases Republicans here will vote for a barrel of radioactive waste with a 'R' on it than a democrat. I think after Sanford wins these conservatives will brag about how christian they are for exercising forgiveness in their voting. In the end Sanford still represents every conservative value, he is white, male, selfish, greedy, and unscrupulous. Im sure there is a majority of his party that would have wanted him to walk over to Colbert and put her in her place for he comments here.

I hope I'm proven wrong, I would like to not be embarrassed of this state for a change.

I agree that his or Clinton's personal problems are between them and their wives.

The BIG DIFFERENCE is that Sanford left his job and none of his staff including the Vice Governor (or whatever his title is) knew where he was. THAT is public and unacceptable behavior.

They probably had conditioned him to respond to any and all mention and the the other side could have come up with something to take that into consideration. Tanned and made up faces don't betray blush easily anyway, if- even without mood drugs- the political animal is mostly immune to that reflex. When everyone hits the script as both sides can easily predict if they try the result is pretty boring and the first rule is safety first.

of South Carolina. If I could move, trust me, I'd dust it out of here. And MissNostalgia , I hate to agree with you but Sanford does represent the worst we have to offer. God, we are the home state to Strom Thurmond, Lee Atwater, Jim DeMint, Lindsey Campbell, not to mention half the
fucking state still thinks we are fighting the civil war. I do wish Colbert-Bush would hand this douche his ass but I know the voting mentality of these fuckers and it doesn't look good.
