That's why I'm here.

That's what I care about.

Sad to see the meager responses to this post.

I thank you for yours, you are a true Democrat.

Peace!

Was that pre-teleprompter?

I remember the speech... I think I saw it live.....but I don't remember him speaking so ..."nervously" is the best word I can come up w. right now.

Nervous, anxious, conscious of the moment and what it meant.

for half a century now. Notice he never has to look down at notes. That's how you know he's using a teleprompter.

In any case, that speech is, as far as I'm concerned, the best speech ever. It could be delivered today with almost no changes at all and you'd never guess it was written more than thirty years ago.

JFK should have lived and served 2 terms ('61-'69) - ending the Vietnam War before it ever got to its height.

RFK and Teddy may have had different timelines - maybe they would have also gone on to head administrations of their own, maybe not, but if Dallas 22/Nov/63 had failed, the world we live in would be incalculably different.

Some of RFK's words and speeches haunt me to this day, both for their truth and their unmet human needs.

On a trip to Boston some years ago, on a walking tour, we ran into Ted waiting on his car - he could not have been more friendly, he cheerily posed for pictures with us, a big smile on his face like we were old friends.

You can just imagine what he went through after what happened to his brothers, thinking he could be next. In spite of that he always fought the good fight for regular people.

RIP Teddy
