I take it as a comment on the mic rather than an indictment of skull and bones or the likes of them... maybe both...

and in NAZI Germany (they existed when he was a young man and/or president) that had excessive surveillance and that prohibited the public from knowing things those governments labeled "secret" or "top secret" to prevent the public from knowing the failings and errors of the government. Clearly, JFK was speaking to the press and encouraging, even exhorting them, to report honestly and without respect for government secrecy on what was really happening.

It would be wonderful if we could get just one presidency that approached freedom of the press in the way that JFK did in this speech. Dream on. Seems we never will. For our governments, it's all smoke and mirrors and trying to look better than they are and hiding any unpleasant truth (by labeling it secret) from the public.

JFK was a great president although he had personal failings like everyone else.

They however are prevented from doing anything because the powers that be won't let anyone with integrity anywhere near any position of power. You may need to look for them, but they're out there. I personally know several.

Why don't you run? My response is simple, "first they would never let me have the backing, Second I would be shot after the first week in office." I don't like money changers.
