The best laid plans of fascists don't always come to pass, no matter how hard they try. From the comment section on the video, which I don't have time to verify and don't support all his conclusions. However, that is how the movie ended:

The actual end of the movie has Olivier surviving in a hospital bed destroying his list of the Hitler clones around the world to protect them from Jewish extremists sharing the biological determinist fallacies of Mengeles. In reality Hitler's brother married an Irish girl in England, his nephew moved to America, and enlisted in the US Navy to fight Fascism in WW2. We're all individuals before anything else.

In a world of dollars replacing the human voice, as if they are individuals, we are sorely outnumbered by those who have billions of dollars to talk over us. The very slick presentations and the money to organize against the Democratic Party's ideas is very serious.

We need to forge a party of those with sufficient cohesion to resist the monied groups FDR spoke of in his era, which he could ever root out completely. Instead we have people savaging those who speak for unity at DU, acting as if the other side is not united and will not tolerate their ideas or idealism, period.

That is why the party in the days of FDR did include racists and every other group that people act like they've moved beyond. And they left the party as it moved to fulfill its destiny by holding to the same tenets of equality from centuries past.

Now we have those who tell us they won't vote and will not give any credit without a sneer, or hate the Democratic president as much as a Teabagger. They will not be there when we need them, they can't even stomach the Democratic Party now.

It will create the same result those in the video want. To claim the Democratic Party is corporatist, weak, or has no principles, or the parties are the same, is a blatant denial of the pure corporatism of the GOP.

Are posters at DU working with this group, that we can never prove. I kept a piece by a DUer who explained the ratfucking here in very clear terms. If they were ever what they say they are, they are now deluded by the same media that the Teabaggers use.

Actually, its worse than this. There are rooms full of people that are paid to do this kind of thing funded by Freedom Works, Koch Bros, etc. And they use sophisticated web applications created to register as troll users on various blogs and on amazon to do exactly what this guy is saying, but on a much larger and faster scale. It's a fascist disinformation campaign.

They have unlimited funds to do this and they manipulate news stories as the Koch brothers and the other radical conservative billionaires have done.

It's no wonder that nothing of what is good being done by the Democratic Party, their sworn enemy, or the significance or depth of change occuring, is going to get a fair chance at DU or any other place.

Instead the media and blogsophere is saturated with people who are being well paid to do it. Like Infowars 'videobloggers' and posters on the internet and running shows. They are confident they can run us over, and it appears they are right.

Their dollars are worthmore than our lives and freedom while they prat on about the values of the 1%. Too many act like they are willing to trash the only organization that can fight back, over lofty 'principles' they claim Obama is failing to live up to while surrrendering the nation to the Koch brothers, who have no such principles.

I've just recieved another mail from a member who has been here nearly 10 years and the disinformation and hatred being spewed has made her decide to leave political boards for good. I've seen a lot of people leave, tired of the lack of interest in liberal and progressive actions taken by this administration, instead tearing it and the Democratic Party, the only opposition to the Koch brothers, down on any premise, and attacking other members with slurs continuously.

Good post, as if it'll do any good.

where they are on NBC,CBS, ABC, on you tube everywhere they lurk or astroturf. Staying here and wracking up thousands of posts is not fighting the battle. I come here mostly for the the Latest Breaking News, because members post important events here faster than they appear as "Breaking" stories on most news outlets. But I am also on my local newspaper and comment boards like Politix, Topix, where the overwhelming majority are Baggers. It is easy to get drowned out, they have the numbers to do that, but are easily spotted as paid shills. Getting that information out to the people that are willing to listen is important. I don't know, everyone lives in a bubble I too am in one, but mine is, I hope an expanding bubble. I have so many different accounts it is hard to keep them straight, DISQUS is one of my favorites it allowed me to post even on some of the most disgusting sites like the Daily Creepy Crawler, and other sites that use DISQUS.
"Seventy five
According to a recent study by Lijit, Disqus is used by 75% of websites who use a third party commenting or discussion system. "
From Wikipedia.
Disqus ranks #1 in Quantcast's U.S. networks with 144 million monthly unique U.S. visits[2] Disqus is featured on many major publications, such as CNN, Daily Telegraph and IGN and about 750,000 blogs and websites.[3] It competes with IntenseDebate, Livefyre and Echo."

Sorry if the number of my posts here at DU offends you, but if you knew me, I don't need to comment in the newspapers.

Apparently though, you spend a lot of time online yourself, so think about that before you make assumptions about my post count and not follow the topic. I don't bother with other social networking sites online. And here is why:

I am known where I go, don't consider it a treat to have to confront people in person, but it has to be done. It's diffcult to reason with people who have been reading online blogs and newspapers, or listening to RW radio and watching RW television shows.

They repeat that and don't listen or are satisfied with attacking others who don't follow their lead. But I prefer to talk to people in the real world concerned about issues I care about an think for themselves.

Peace Out.

Your number of posts doesn't upset me, why should I care. Sorry you took it that way. Some, did not say you, live their entire lives on here it seems. Hey, if that's what floats their boat I don't care but this is not where one is going to win a battle, the battle IS taking place on social network sites, comment boards, yes the "internets". If you can't see that then do you what you deem best. Your opinion on comment boards is fine if that is what you believe. Our mileage may vary on that topic

Sun Jun 30, 2013, 09:38 PM
Jun 2013

Yet you decided to lecture me, for some reason and made me the subject, and not the OP. Perhaps you responded on the wrong line, but that is odd.

But while the 'internets' which I'll say it like you do, just like Bush did, don't vote. Real people do.

Obama couldn't get media coverage, and his use of the internet was to organize real people to get out and vote.

Not just to sway opinions on the internet.

If you think being online equates to voting and changing government, when all around us those who were elected are changing the real landscape of our lives, go right ahead.

You have a right to spend you time and think what you want. It was you who brought up the amount of time me or people as you now say, spendonline as a negative, when you do the exact same thing and want me to do it your way.

If you can't understand the way you are coming off to me, you and I are done. And you are not sorry 'I took it that way,' which sounds like a Rush apology. You are 'sorry' that I found the consistency in your reply between being on DU and the other sites you think are more important.

I agree in part, because I don't take DU that seriously now. It's less of place to discuss issues than it once was. As far as going to other sites, don't think you're changing the minds of the teabaggers. They are a cult. They will try to win an argument online, but in real life, they will continue to vote GOP.

In the meantime, you might want to go out and register some people to vote or help them get to the polls or go over ballot initiatives that either help or steal our democracy. If you don't mind, that is my suggestion to you for action. But it can't be done online or on blogs.

EOM.

WTF are these so called fans?

I have enjoyed reading Mr. Greenwald's columns/blog and interviews for years.

If this makes me a not 'good folk' then so be it.

WTF is a 'Paulbot'?

Is it Rand Paul?

ARE there any of these on DU?

I do not understand your post.

Error, error; danger Will Robinson, unknown thought pattern permeates this post; danger, danger!

Anyway, I went to Wiki and found the following article of Glenn under 'Political Views';

Greenwald is critical of actions jointly supported by Democrats and Republicans, writing: "the worst and most tyrannical government actions in Washington are equally supported on a fully bipartisan basis."[69] In the preface to his first book, How Would a Patriot Act? (2006), Greenwald opens with some of his own personal political history, describing his 'pre-political' self as neither liberal nor conservative as a whole, voting neither for George W. Bush nor for any of his rivals (indeed, not voting at all).[70]

Bush's ascendancy to the U.S. presidency "changed" Greenwald's previous uninvolved political attitude toward the electoral process "completely":

Over the past five years, a creeping extremism has taken hold of our federal government, and it is threatening to radically alter our system of government and who we are as a nation. This extremism is neither conservative nor liberal in nature, but is instead driven by theories of unlimited presidential power that are wholly alien, and antithetical, to the core political values that have governed this country since its founding"; for, "the fact that this seizure of ever-expanding presidential power is largely justified through endless, rank fear-mongering—fear of terrorists, specifically—means that not only our system of government is radically changing, but so, too, are our national character, our national identity, and what it means to be American."[70]

Believing that "It is incumbent upon all Americans who believe in that system, bequeathed to us by the founders, to defend it when it is under assault and in jeopardy. And today it is", he stresses: "I did not arrive at these conclusions eagerly or because I was predisposed by any previous partisan viewpoint. Quite the contrary."[70]

Resistant to applying ideological labels to himself, he emphasizes repeatedly that he is a strong advocate for U.S. constitutional "balance of powers"[14] and for constitutionally-protected civil and political rights in his writings and public appearances.[6]

Throughout his work he has relentlessly criticized the policies of the George W. Bush administration and those who support or enable it, arguing that most of the American "Corporate News Media" excuse Bush's policies and echo administration talking points rather than asking hard questions.[36][57]

Regarding civil liberties in the age of Obama, he elaborated on his conception of change when he said, "I think the only means of true political change will come from people working outside of that [two-party electoral] system to undermine it, and subvert it, and weaken it, and destroy it; not try to work within it to change it."[71] He did, however, raise money for Russ Feingold's 2010 Senate re-election bid,[72] Bill Halter's 2010 primary challenge to Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln,[73] as well as several Congressional candidates in 2012 he described as "unique".[74]

Greenwald and Paulbots are not the same.

In no universe can they be compared except to say they are both white males.

What all this anti-Obama, I hate Snowden and any reporter who disagrees is all about distraction.

The conversation that should be going on is how capitalism has totally corrupt our democracy. It's not government workers spying on you. It is corporate contractors spying on you. The government is funding these corrupt corporate elites and they are working together to control, manipulate and spy on you. That is FDR's meaning for fascism.

To get back our democracy we need to get rid of capitalism and put democracy back in the workplace, put democracy back in our economic system.

We would not have these trolls if a few rich men couldn't get richer by manipulating us.

Capitalist corporate tools can not function without us workers.

I've been observing Ron Paul for years and I've seen plenty to dislike about him and a few things I did like; not enough to vote for the guy, but decriminalization of ganja and winding down the empire are good ideas in my book.

I've also observed Glenn Greenwald over a significant stretch of ground and I have yet to see him speak where he rings false. So if I was a Greenwald 'fan', how would that make me a fan of Ron Paul?

Further, the body of your post doesn't offer me any kind of illumination, just more invective. Sorry, I don't see this as constructive.

It has been obvious for quite a while that there are literally armies of right-wing lunatic posters out there busy spreading the lies, rumors and pumping up the false accusations on a 24/7/365 basis. That's why it is so important to keep putting out the truth and the other point of view with our own posts -- to counter all the bullshit. Consider it a civic duty. To be honest, however, I don't think that these sock puppet armies sway elections -- but they DO pump up and maintain the hate/anger levels in the lie-believing right-wing neanderthal crowd, which translates to votes for the G.O.P.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014522670#post4

They are working against us in real time, in real places as well and are extremely well funded. Grover Nordquist promised a new Tea Party Two to stop Obama's agenda after he won the election. They are here.

His first Tea Party was effective in getting a GOP majority in 2010 with the help of the media that serves conservative billionaires.

This video was a prime example of their intention to not only hold the HoR but take the Senate in 2014. They are keeping us busy with faux scandals and continued obstruction to get more red states and repeal the 14th.

At that point, civil rights are gone.

Many democrats even support much if not all of the GOP economic agenda.

The useful idiots, yes that is what they are, of the GOP are the useful idiots of the corporations, GOP and social conservatives, nothing more. They are beyond hope let them wallow in their own ignorance.

The Democratic Party leadership has dramatically changed since 81 they are now working with the corporations for our demise.

If we the members of the Democratic Party want change within the Party we will have to remove all corporate/thirdway democratic politicians from office and all levels within the Party. They have to be made to pick a side people or corporations. There is no middle ground any more.

If the Party picks corporations then get used to living in a nation where those who have the least will be left to die, non property owners will lose the vote, we will live in a fundy theocracy and women and non whites will be second class citizens.

What Do you want the party to be a representative and voice of the people or corporations?
