They are just instructed to be happy to have a job. Since the propaganda is so strong and critical thought is so weak, people accept it.

Single, isolated incidents mean little in a country of 1.339 billion. Workers cannot organize. . .labor "unions" are more like trade organizations to benefit the factory owners or the industry, not the worker.

I know many people that work everyday (seven days a week) and don't make enough to live on. One woman I know makes 2000RMB a month, works seven days a week for 10 hours a day (excluding an hour for lunch).

2000RMB is about $330 a month. She makes about $10.25 a day in one of the most expensive cities in China (Suzhou).

This is how people here are instructed to thing about working and salaries: People should make just enough to cover their bills and have a little extra left over.

This is the how it works in China. This is how it's going in the US.
