6. LED Globe retrofits for Incandecent ...

is still in it's infancy (the 100W equivalent will be reached very soon at an acceptable price point). I'd rather have LED's than power hungry Incandescent (5% light and 95% heat) or toxic CFL/Florescent.

Industry is leading and consumers will follow.

Any reduction in power use is a good thing especially where I live as a kWh cost 30c I know in some States it's only 10c.

5. Nostalgia Usually Means the Good Old Days

History often means you remember the bad old days or at least the bad parts. When someone talks nostalgia they usually have a smile on their face. History often brings out just the opposite. While there were a few dates in history that we can be proud of we tend to remember the bad times, the killings,the injustice, the graft. We think of how far we could have come if it wasn't for the fact that history has a way of dragging us down where a certain percentage of the population,billionaires etc want us to be--in our place--and far away from their space,their place. They don't want new ideas. They want the same old ideas and expect us to except it gratefully.
