#at=73This is a time-lapse of bears getting freaky-deaky on a scratching tree in the great outdoors of Alberta, Canada. Well, the great outdoors with power lines in the background anyways. The camera was set up by wildlife lover Glenn Naylor, who is apparently into this sort of thing. And, I'll admit it: so am I. I've always felt very close to bears. Like, I just want to do my own thing in the woods all day AND MAUL ANYBODY'S FACE OFF who gets in my way. You know, the simple life. Plus you get to hibernate for like half the year and those Charmin bears have even got the hookup on that toilet paper that doesn't leave butt crumbs.
Hit the jump for the video, but skip to around 0:45 if you want to get straight to the party.

(21,363 posts)driving backroads home from my daughter's. I thought it was a huge dog at first, just standing in the road. The closer I got, the bigger it got. Jet black and a bit bigger than the size of a large pony.
It ran off when I finally got too close, I was crawling along. It was exciting, as usually I only see them in the rearview when they run out behind me.

(17,912 posts)I love my wildlife camera too. We've caught whitetail, turkeys, raccoons, possums and occasionally black bear. No mountain lions or grizz, thank goodness! Not much in our NC woods that could eat us with little effort.

(15,682 posts)whole thing about hybernation and keeping a winter's worth of food in, right? I can't say it would be worth the trade off - even as much as I love to sleep!!
Thank you for the great video!! Bookmarking so I can watch it on a full screan when I get home!!
