Papantonio: Limbaugh and Hannity Headed To Retirement Home

Mike Papantonio appears on MSNBC's The Ed Show, along with talk radio consultant Holland Cooke, to discuss the downfall of conservative talk radio, as hate talkers like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are hemorrhaging affiliates and advertisers.

and Glenn Beck will join them..according to trade gossip..Time to go to after WOR. Personally I think that making money is secondary to selling the conservative message...feed the rich ..with more tax breaks and so on...I think they consider talk radio a good investment in their brand even if it doesn't make money...

Both Limbaugh and Hannity have been on that station for many years. Now that Cummulus owns WABC and Clear Channel owns WOR (Limbaugh and Hannity are on Premier Networks, also owned by CC.), Clear Channel wants to drop WABC from their network. Cummulus also wants to negotiate a contract with Premier and does not wish to pay as much as they have in the past. It's all about negotiations. Of course, the programs are also not selling as much advertising as they used to.

It serves to catapult the propaganda of the oligarchs that have captured our government. I would think they could give a rats ass about profit. The propaganda investment covers the losses from lack of revenue.

It's like the return on investment for campaign contributions. It seems like a million donated will yield a 100 million legislation benefit for your fracking company or charter school or multi-national oil corporation.

These liars and their lavish salaries are just loss leaders to get the big benefits at the ballot box to convince enough people to vote against their own interests. One such interest these days is Democracy itself.

They spend billions to get the easily frightened and gullible to vote against their own best interests. Appealing to the worst fears and lowest instincts has worked because of the great dumbing down that eliminated critical thinking from public school curriculum. The math is easy. They get back a billion for a million invested.

What a great laugh! The thing that's always been missing from right wing talk radio is HUMOR! Mike Pappantonio is darn funny sometimes, and that is a huge plus in getting points across because you remember something that's funny. Trumps hate every time.

Grrrrreat interview!

What a dork.

Never listened to them much and never thought making fun of homeless during the Clinton years was "creative" anyway.

Now, it's just a matter of economics.

Good riddance, you talentless rich flotsam ....
