Related: About this forumBill Maher on craziness in North Carolina--Poor James Taylor
#at=70I fear James Taylor's classic song "Carolina in my Mind" would now have to have lyrics like this:
You have lost your mind North Carolina
Guns in bars at night time
Mocked by Maher on Real Time
Aint it just like that luck of mine
To get shot from behind
Yes, I think North Carolina lost its mind.
Look out for Sharia Law
Youd best walk away when it starts comin
Watch it grab Cape Hatteras
The Smokey Mountains must be next
Im crying, aint I?
Poor North Carolina lost its mind.
There aint no doubt in no ones mind
That guns belong on our playground
Whisper something wrong, get shot,
And hey babe Ill turn and fire
Im dyin aint I?
Poor North Carolina lost its mind.

It appears they are moving into other methods, by the transcript of the July 29th interview at the link:We had hoped that by doing civil nonviolent disobedience that they would come to their senses, but we also knew that, in that tradition, if they did not come to their senses, our work was to wake up the consciousness and the senses of the people of North Carolina. And it has, we've done that across this state, across the nation, and now we're organizing like never before.
Are they meeting outside the legislature again today?
Please post a video so we can continue to promote it.
Also there is going to be a major event later in August in Washington, D.C. All of these are done to raise the national awareness, and will not be covered in M$M. It was posted by handmade34:

I made a thread of this:
"MARCH ON WASHINGTON" AUGUST 24th, 2013

It is a fitting in line of all the regression we have suffered, particularly since 2010, that this 50th anniversary ring loud and clear across the land.

(53,661 posts)I edited to add more, as that's not completely over either. MM now moves to the nation's capitol and to the pulpits and communities of N.C.

(1,805 posts)I'd send this to my sister who moved to NC with a guy she met on the net (through Pogo), but she wouldn't "get" it. She never was the brightest one in the family, but I'm the only one left to play Mommy. My other sister who was truly a sweetheart played the mom role and when she died in a car accident, I somehow got stuck with being Mommy. My own fault, but whatcha gonna do?? Thank god she doesn't have any kids. Too many abortions.
Not only did her Pogo relationship not work - surprise, surprise - this was the SECOND guy she met via the net. That one was when she and Mr.Brilliant was both in prison they somehow became pen pals, so she was waiting there when the gate swung open and they drove straight to Reno to get married. It comes to no surprise to anyone that her brain is fried by crack and every other thing that's illegal to ingest (except alcohol, she actually brags that at least she's not an alcoholic)! She's been sober now for almost 20 years, but alas, it's too late for her.
Fortunately she's on disability and doesn't have the proverbial two cents, so I can no doubt rest easy that she probably won't be able to come back to California any day soon. Apparently, if someone you don't like was not lucky enough to born in NC, you'll be fortunate like me and they'll end up there. The other day I mentioned ordering something through Amazon....and she'd never heard of it. She went to look it up and told me the clothes were too expensive for her.
Please,I beg you, Dear North Carolina, keep her forever. She fits right in.

If you are not exaggerating your sister's story I understand why you wouldn't want anything to do with her. What a waste of life.
