Former Navy Chaplain: Jesus Wants You to 'Sell Your Clothes and Buy a Gun'

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/david/former-navy-chaplain-jesus-wants-you-sell-yo

A disgraced former Navy chaplain this week told his viewers that Jesus would want them to "sell your clothes and buy a gun."

During his Pray In Jesus Name Internet show, Chaplain Gordon James "Chaps" Klingenschmitt suggested that the Department of Homeland Security was trying to enslave citizens by hoarding all of the ammunition.

"I think Jesus would favor the Second Amendment," Klingenschmitt explained. "This is my opinion, that the Holy Spirit would allow the citizens to protect themselves rather than delegating that to a government to go out arm themselves against the citizens in the name of protecting the citizens.

The former Navy chaplain pointed out that Jesus had told his disciples who did not have a sword to "sell his cloak and buy one" when he was being hunted by the Romans.

"You know what, citizens, if you don't have a gun, I'm telling you as a Christian chaplain, sell your clothes and buy a gun," Klingenschmitt insisted. "It's time. The government persecution will be coming against you, and you need to arm yourselves and your family when that time comes."

Twisting history and using Jesus' (a man of peace) words to arm the gullible and frightened worshipers. Dominions and Christian Reconstructionists like Bachmann and Ron Paul would just love to have the US breakdown so that they can rebuild it as so called Christian nation basing our laws on the Old Testament. Remember Bush using the word crusades as we prepared for a never ending war. Sick people, IMO Jesus would not approve of their message.

"Chaps" Klingenschmitt

AFTAH Interview with Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt – Part One
Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

This interview with Gordon James “Chaps” Klingenschmitt [click HERE to listen] was pre-taped and aired Christmas day, 2010. Chaps is founder of the “Pray in Jesus’ Name Project,” named after his much-publicized struggle to pray in Jesus’ name in public and without restrictions as a U.S. Navy Chaplain — which cost him his career in the service. Chaps, a graduate of the Air Force Academy, discusses his work reaching men and women for Christ in the Navy — including an “exorcism” involving a woman who overcame lesbianism. AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera commends Klingenschmitt for his yeoman’s work in mobilizing tens of thousands of Americans to fight the Democrat-led, lame-duck congressional effort to repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military. Chaps discusses God’s view of homosexuality as sin, and says his biggest disappointment among Senate Republicans who joined the Democrats in ending the homosexual ban was Mark Kirk — the new Illinois Senator who quickly alienated conservatives in his own state by voting for the repeal. Part Two of this interview will air in January.

This is the first google result and I'm not going further. My first thought on this guy was flippant, that he couldn't handle being told NO by a woman. Looking at the webpage, this is part of a conservative theocracy thing.

I didn't listen to the mp3s being offered nor watch the video, and suggest no one does so, to keep the blood pressue down. Just think, this wacko is going to be speaking in church and getting their voting block riled up. True, this is from 2010, but it's still there and now this guy and his side have clearly lost the battle, not only legally, but with what I believe are the majority of Americans.

Now he's reduced to advocating violence since democracy didn't work the way he thought it should, reaffirming his own personal belief system that he wants to force on others in what is their private, personal lives. His theology is way off the mark and with so many guns around, this is a disturbing trend.

The ACA has a mental health portion that might stop some violence, but he and his group are into 'exorcisms.' LIke I said, I didn't go any further, as I was just looking for a picture and more details on this former chaplain.

Wonder if FreedomWorks, Michelle Bachmann and other teabaggers are working with this guy with Koch money. He advocates buying guns for social reasons and is promoting paranoia and a senes of victimhood. I'm hoping these gun owners will not go out hunting. This is worse than AFA, IMHO.
