Its the same thing McDonalds attempted, but actually done correctly. They added up all expenses in a given area then divided by 2080 (40 hours *52 weeks), to get a wage you would need to live in a given region with a given household.

and if you are in management, you might get a little more hours, but pay still sucks.

Pay management less. 15% less or more.
They have seen spectacular growth of income while workers have seen stagnation. Flip it, no salary increases for the upper strata until the workers get 25% of the growth of income they have enjoyed for the last 30+ years.
I once saw something from the UAW that said that if the minimum wage had keep pace with executive pay increases; the minimum wage would be $25.00 an hour. That was 9 years ago.
