But it does seem we have failed to heed his warning on the military-industrial complex. That much is for sure.

a DU posting yesterday about Thaddeus Stevens, who among other things, advocated for free public schools in Pennsylvania. Warning about the MIC, advocating for public education - what were those Republicans thinking about? How there is any possibility that any of the 2012 GOP could conceivable win is beyond me.

... but the word "congressional" was struck from the phrase because it was thought it would be too political, and would cause many to discount the important points Eisenhower was making. He knew that congressional members, who were being bankrolled by industry, were the third part of the problem.
