Richard Eskow, Campaign For America's Future & Austin Petersen, The Libertarian Republic join Thom Hartmann. America is a billionaires paradise and the superrich are way too rich. Consider these facts: Right now - the American social structure looks more like that of a banana republic than the country Thomas Jefferson called an empire of liberty. Just 400 mega-wealthy households now own more wealth than 60 percent of country. Corporate profits are higher than theyve been in over half- a-century - and the top one percent has captured almost all the wealth created since the collapse of 2008. But the scariest part is that the mega-rich dont even know what to do with that much wealth. A recent study reported on by CNBC found that last quarter - the savings rate of the wealthiest 1 percent soared to 37 percent in the second quarter. That's up from 34 percent in the second quarter of 2012-and more than three times their savings rate in 2007. (3,280 posts)1. How is it even possible
For him to talk about how the corporations don't want deregulation, that they're asking for regulation? His whole stance was (to borrow from Eskow) gibberish. I don't understand how he could even say any of that with a straight face.
I can't believe what I just saw Thom just sat there while all the BS was just spewed, maybe it's because that "libertarian" shill was sitting in the studio. But, I have never seen Thom sit there and let the BS flow as if it were facts, what happen?
