NASA climate change video: This is the U.S. in 2100

"Scientists hope that the drastic results of CO2 emissions will provide motivation for Americans to start thinking about adaptive strategies to prepare for change."

"These visualizations communicate a picture of the impacts of climate change in a way that words do not," Allison Leidner, a NASA scientist who coordinates NASA's involvement in the National Climate Assessment, said in a statement. "When I look at the scenarios for future temperature and precipitation, I really see how dramatically our nation's climate could change."

By the end of the century, average temperatures rise regardless of our emissions output:: 4.5 degrees F (low emissions, left) versus 8 degrees F (high emissions, right). (Image: NASA)

they are using that 100 years statistic, putting it so far away that even if we are scared by it, it really won't affect US.

What pisses me off is that all the models been wrong as far as timing, things they said wouldn't happen for another 50 years are happening NOW. so take that 100 years and lets bring it down to maybe a couple decades, tops. The feedback loop effect is already underway, this is like a train out of control...
