EPA comes to the defense of the Honeybee

finally!

http://m.washingtonexaminer.com/endangered-epa-finally-comes-to-defense-of-honey-bees/article/2534480
Under pressure from Congress and the honey industry, the EPA is ordering an immediate reduction in the use of widely used pesticides, an admission that bug killers approved by the agency are partly responsible for the disappearance of honey bees.

The Environmental Protection Agency is changing the labeling on pesticides to reduce their use in fields when bees are present, the first significant concession provided to the honey industry which has reported bee kills of over 50 percent among some commercial beekeepers.

"Multiple factors play a role in bee colony declines, including pesticides. The Environmental Protection Agency is taking action to protect bees from pesticide exposure and these label changes will further our efforts," said Jim Jones, assistant administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.

this reversal fascinates me after Congress issued the Monsanto Protection act and Obama signed it

it means the Honeybee may go extinct and is endangered and THEY HAD too do it

Is this one big mistake? or what

I don't raise bees deliberately or anything, but I do keep a weed patch right outside my front door that in years past had lots of honey bees flocking to it. This year, not so much. Butterfly and moth numbers seem to be down too. The whole point of that patch is so I can sit on my stoop and watch them all do their thing, so I'm not happy.

I was very scared in the summer at not seeing half as many bees but they did show up later in the summer

I have a family member who took up bee keeping in Germany just to save the bee

God Bless him and all the others who have done it

This is an example of why some government agencies are needed and are a good thing!
If the fucking Re-Thugs had their way, they would do away with the EPA! Oh and that other agency too, the uh...uh...let me think...uh...ooops!

Should find out if insecticides are what are causing bats to mold from the inside out? It's past 1984 politically and the Silent Spring ecologically, we were warned about.

I hope we can reverse the trend for our pollinators. Or maybe the trucking of bees for profit has a better lobby in DC?
