Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: Who are the Sovereign Citizens?
Alfred Adask, Sovereign Citizen & Mark Potok, Southern Poverty Law Center join Thom Hartmann. There are between 100,000 and a half-million Americans who believe the United States government and its court system are completely illegitimate. As a result - these Americans typically don't obey many laws, drive without drivers licenses - and don't pay taxes...and no, I'm not talking about General Electric. Instead - I'm talking about the Sovereign Citizens Movement. It's a loosely organized group of Americans from around the nation who for the most part operate under the radar. And with numerous lawsuits against police and public officials - and behavior outside our legal system - Sovereign Citizens are becoming a real thorn in the side of local, state, and federal governments. But now the state of Georgia is fighting back. Republican state Representative B.J. Pak introduced legislation to disarm Sovereign Citizens of one of their most-frequented tactics - the filing of lawsuits and liens to tie up public officials in costly legal battles.

Here's a "book" written by one of them, that's an amazing tome (see especially his views on women, and how we should have never been given the right to vote). Unfortunately, none of the younger Occupiers have taken the time to read this.
These guys came into the group early, plying the kids with pot, instigating arrests, and attacking anyone in the group who became effective with the media, legal action or networking in the community.
