Papantonio: Democrat – The New Face Of Wall Street Corruption

This segment originally aired on the September 1st, 2013 episode of Ring of Fire on Free Speech TV. Today’s Democratic Party has become a subsidiary of Wall Street banks. We’re kidding ourselves if we think that it’s just the GOP. Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio talks about the new Wall Street democrats with attorneys Howard Nations and Dave TeSelle.

What we really need is a people's party with candidates who agree not to invest in mic companies or work as lobbyists EVER. Can the Dems be that party??

The dems keep taking my vote for granted while taunting, "Who else you gonna vote for?" Well, the Greens, perhaps. Voting for the lesser of two evils is getting me exactly what I don't want.

This cartoon says it all. It's not just Obama, it's the entire party.

on edit: I spent over an hour on this site yesterday: http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php

More Americans should spend some time here.

I worked hard for Obama in 2008, I believed in his rhetoric. Then he trotted out the old Rubin in and out of Wall Street flat earth greed is good team as his financial team. That was a clear signal to me that Wall Street owns the democratic party too.

I voted for him again in 2012 but that was a lot more anti Romney than a ringing endorsement of Obama. It just stinks that this is where we're at with the two party system, a system now where we vote on who likely will do less harm. I'm not sure where we go in the near future but this system is broken. The major news media doesn't really probe and investigate anymore, they're locked into false equivalency mode.

We need multiple parties, IRV, and for once to get real on easy, secure, and verifiable voting. Oh and we need to end gerrymandering and go to public funding of elections.

I doubt we can get our government back via the ballot box. Gerrymandering, Citizens United, electronic voting & a for-profit media, who's agenda is their bottom line, not informing the public.

I'm at a loss as well. I will still vote predominately dem, but no more guaranteed vote from me. I will not vote for Clinton. I see her as Obama's third term, who has largely been Bush's third term, who was Clinton's third term on steroids, who was mostly Reagan/Bush's forth term.

Here is a chapter out of Michael Moore's book, "Stupid White Men." The title of the chapter is "Democrats: DOA." It is spot on. I especially liked this sentence, which comes after a long list of Clinton 'achievements.'

"Yes, you'd have to agree, considering all of his above accomplishments, that Bill Clinton was one of the best Republican Presidents we've ever had."

Another DUer wondered if the repubs win the WH in 16, will the dems move right or left? My guess? Right. Why break a pattern that has been working for them for 30+ years. I'll bet their bank accounts are pretty damned lush by now.

James Madison said, "when the variety and number of political parties increases, the chance for oppression, factionalism, and nonskeptical acceptance of ideas decreases."

Vote your conscience. That's where I'm at.

18. The repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act was required by a WTO agreement developed by Raygun
Wed Sep 4, 2013, 02:33 PM
Sep 2013

The Glass-Steagall Act had to be repealed in order to meet the demands of a WTO agreement signed by the US and developed by the Raygun administration.

I imagine the Dodd Frank act is either totally toothless or will soon be, in order to meet the conditions of the numerous WTO agreements.

I wish just one president would have the guts to stand up to those WTO agreements developed by neocons and say go ahead put on your trade sanctions and embargoes. Go ahead, don't import your crap to the US. The bushes ignored the "NO torture" agreement under the Geneva convention treaty and Nothing happened. We should do the same thing with the Raygun Neocon WTO agreements.
