1. They can no longer rely on younger sons of nobility

and bourgeoise property owners to fill the ranks due to primogeniture passing entire estates on to the first born. Recruitment has been down for decades and this is one of the main reasons: needing to repress one's sexuality.

They might drop it for priests, but not bishops and above and certainly not for nuns. If a man wants to advance into the hierarchy, he'll still likely have to forgo the comforts of a married life.

2. They should marry so they can leave little boys alone...

But if they are sexually attracted to boys , marrying a woman won't help imo
