I see them in the grocery store and the library frequently. (in our library there is self-checkout. Some kids really don't want to let go of their books long enough to do it.)

show the stock market falling out, overlay audio clips of how this can tank the recovery, show Boehner looking drunk and crying then laughing, etc. Use an edited version of the song from the Sex Pistol -- Anarchy in the (UK) USA -- which starts with a laugh and ends with "I wanna get pissed (brit for "drunk&quot ...Destroy! (skip the middle of the song, just make a 30 sec spot)

"Don't know what I want but I know how to get it!" (how prophetic)

... and also add the McConnell/Rand on-mic incident.

I'd love to have them, going on your Sex Pistol theme, add " ... and other cunt-like tendencies."*

*It's a lyric in a song. And in the song the word is gender neutral.

You don't put this much moola into something without some serious research into how people react.

I'm pretty sure both of us would be outliers in any such focus group.

I'm betting he didn't count on renewed conversation about his hitting the bottle when he went along with this stupid stunt. He was probably counting on hearing boos from certain factions, but conversations about BOOZE might have taken him by surprise.

true of many ads from the left. Need to get some pros creating the material, or at least people with real media experience.

They needed a toddler; not a baby that is just going to cry... OR a whole slew of differing screen shots of babies crying in a series... and end with one of the pics of John Boehner crying like he's known to do... AND have the line about, we have to get something for the shut down even if they don't know what it is...

ok attempt, but I kind of felt bad for the baby crying... like it was sick with an ear infection or diaper rash.. didn't feel like it was an obnoxious temper tantrum like the GOP is pulling.

effective way to attack the GOP.

I thought the ad was great. Simple and to the point.

Americans need things simple.

they obviously don't ask around what would be the best way to spend their cash. this is just going to annoy people and they'll turn the channel. they'll also say what did they do to make this kid cry for a commercial. which again takes away the focus from the facts. why not show the facts of what have happened to many programs, families, parks, the stock market, worldwide fears - all because lil Boehner can't stop the law that was already passed and vetted by the SCOTUS. this ad doesn't change any minds, it's the kind of thing that internet commenters say to make a quick snide comment to the other side.

They will see the crying, and know what the commercial is about. perhaps. I don't know. There will be more commercials and we will see, and as the Republicans lose support, and they are losing support, the commercials won't matter because of the ultimate truth of what is going on.

show people who don't understand, like sports fans tend not to, what the truth is. this bill was passed years ago, and they fought it to the SCOTUS, where they lost, but here they are, again, shutting down the gov't! jerks...
