A sobering message.

I would also recommend the movie "Chasing Ice," especially for any climate change deniers you know. The visual evidence is stunning. James Balog, the movie's creator, was a climate change denier, before documenting the extreme changes taking place in the Arctic. His crew witnesses a 75 minute calving event. At one point they superimpose Manhattan over the glacier, so you can grasp the scope. Mind boggling imagery!

Personally, I think humanity's odds are pretty bad. There is no political will. We are spending our last fossil fuels fighting for & extracting, more fossil fuels! It's almost like our collective attitude is, "We're totally FUBAR'd, so let's party like it's 1999!"

...there are already reports of methane vents on the tropical west coast of Africa and many arctic sites, both offshore and in the tundra.

Alarmist? OK, but the case could be made that it's Pollyanna optimistic in assuming:
first: that it's not too late to reverse, and
second: that we really can make the necessary changes. (The track record is gloomy, except in the cases of Freon and DDT)

accountability could start. Consequences would be a SHUTDOWN of a well or application revoked until compliance is made.
Big Business understands Shutdowns. Pump Jacks do not pump 24 hours a day anyway!

The President and VP need to talk to the American People, on Live TV.
