OMG - Jon Stewart Gets Actual Hostage Negotiator To Deal With GOP

This clip is so on-point, it makes all of the news reporting elsewhere look like amateur hour.

Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones brings in an actual hostage negotiator try and help him negotiate with a Republican strategist to unearth what the GOP’s political demands are during this government shutdown.

When she said 'Obamacare is one of the worst things ever to happen to the country', he retorts to the obvious, “Do you remember f*cking slavery?!”

I'm pretty amazed by the way Jason has been handling this issue.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time he's broken character in an interview. I like it, but, it's going to limit how many interviews they get if he keeps straight up calling them out.

Though, if all the press did it, then they wouldn't have a choice of venues when they try to spew their nonsensical tripe.

They are so sure of their beliefs that they think no one can make fun of them. I'm sure she was sitting there thinking how stupid he will look to the public when this comes out.

The GOP hasn't had anything but defeat after defeat which is driving them crazy. They keep thinking it's their TURN to win at SOMETHING. They put everything they had into an anti-Obamacare campaign and they can't admit it's OVER and they LOST because they were WRONG.

Remember Fonzie on "Happy Days" being unable to say he was wrong?

....as soon as the IDIOTS on the other side learn that "government" isn't the evil monster they thought it was.

What they don't take into account is those people can't SEE facts. They are blinded by their ideology and united in their hate.

like when he stated this "in my twenty some years in this business, I have never witnessed anything like this".

I wish we could fight these domestic terrorists as seriously as we would any others that threaten the lives and security of our nation and it's citizens.

We should be able to do something other than allow them to threaten us with economic mass destruction as if it were legal to do so.
In short, we should be able to arrest and try them for their extortion and threats like would normally happen if they were not politicians that are somehow not bound by our laws.

If they could prove in court they are innocent of threatening devastation in order to have their demands met then they could be vindicated, but I believe enough evidence exists for a conviction if only they were not above the law.

When a subset of people are held above the law as are many these days in the US, then there is no civilized method to protect us from the criminals and terrorists that hold such status. Our only choice then is victimization or mob justice, and ironically unlike us, the terrorists in question enjoy very powerful militarized protection from mob justice (a bad option to resort to pitchforks and torches, but without even that we are left with nothing but to be helpless victims).

Wow the stupid really hurts watching her.

But on a serious note, once again there is no reasons given when she is asked why it is harmful to, say, small business. Just a generic.."it will be the worst thing to ever happen.."

What is scary is how die-hard GOP baggers like her actually think they are winning some game they have no clue about and still have this smug smirking attitude on top of it, inherited from the Decider.

a genius. And Fox Noose and RW radio are making more of them every day. It doesn't matter that they are a tiny minority. Look at what they have accomplished.

It's infuriating and depressing that the RW propaganda campaign has been so brilliantly executed. Those people are so thoroughly brainwashed they can be convinced of anything, anything, the RW tells them, no matter how preposterous. And they will not only believe it, they will preach it.

We are doomed.
