2. We must use this looming, self inflicted tragedy to reset our electoral process!

We need to get the $ out of our elections. That is the key to stopping the Plutocrats control over us. This is just sad that these few people are devolving our society world-wide. Thanks again Rachel!

about 380 days away.

The only way to have a lasting outcome of this thing is to make sure the GOP pays such a heavy price that they never try this stunt again in the rest of Obama's Presidency. If they decide that they can't use either a government shutdown or a game of chicken on the debt ceiling to force negotiations, then they will have to work in the normal way the democracy is supposed to work. If the learn that hostage tactics don't work, then they will have to work within the system, and in that system, Dems control the WH and the Senate, so the GOP should not expect to get very much of what they want.

So Obama must hold the line. And he can easily do that as long as the polls keep showing this is hurting the GOP. It is unfortunate that many people will be hurt in the short term, but that is still a lot better than capitulating and allowing the terrorists to take hostages again in a few weeks. So I don't think this is going to be finished for another week. The GOP is in the process of crumbling on this issue. We have to let them crumble the rest of the way so that there won't be a single respectable Republican who says "Gee, that almost worked. Let's try it again."

6. "Trucker Protest a Bust"

The 1%'ers were really counting on truckers... those they've blasted their message to via Fox News public brainwashing stations throughout the country... to show up in Washington, just shows how totally out of touch they are.
Truckers are struggling in this economy to keep driving for the pennies a mile they get to deliver goods. As though 99 percent of truckers could afford to diesel up their engines at over 3 bucks a gallon to drive to D.C., unless they could pick up a delivery there... is ludicrous.
It is also demeaning, in a way... There are truck drivers with advanced degrees, other jobs have been shipped overseas, now some of them drive trucks because it is a job that is there. No consideration was made that truckers, often competing to get enough work to feed their families, make house payments, etc. cannot afford to make "frivolous" trips to D.C.
I think there is an assumption here, that truckers "all" are like the one featured in the clip... ignorant and brainwashed by the right wing media, still convinced that "Obamacare" is "socialism"... you know the sort.
It bothers me very much to see the Fox News stations blasting away, often on multiple big screen T.V.s overhead wherever truckers must stop to do their business. I've listed many of these locations at Turnofffox.org, and written my objections to one of the big-chain truckstop corporate offices... to no response or avail.
This is really disturbing to me.
