MSNBC’s Martin Bashir and Rep. Alan Grayson Go At It Over KKK-Tea Party Email

This might come as a surprised to anyone familiar with Martin Bashir‘s usual rhetoric. On Friday afternoon, the MSNBC host tore into Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) for his “inflammatory” fundraising email that compared the Ku Klux Klan to the tea party movement. The congressman continued his defense of the email in spite of outspoken liberal Bashir’s protests.

he usually (when I've seen his show) does a better job of connecting the dots.

seems to be on the side of the racists.

That was a ridiculous analogy Bashir used. The atmosphere the TeaKlanners are incubating may well have led to deaths. Not every Teabagger is a racist, and not every racist in has killed someone. But it's not hard to imagine that some are emboldened by the fact that they don't have to look very far to find a face that is friendly to them.

Now they can just turn on MSNBC and find another one.

I'm on your side Alan.

I disagree with Martin Bashir on this one. It is what it is. This is what Grayson is speaking out about:

but largely Grayson's intellect is so much superior to these airheads, I think it must be like figuring out how to explain the facts of life presumably to someone who should possess more body of knowledge than a 2 year old toddler.

Welcome to our world Grayson and keep up the good fight, while you still can!

Thanks for posting this. I seen it when it happened. I was shocked that Martin Bashir took the stance he did. Martin just knocked himself down off this little pedestal I had him sitting on top of. Unbelievable.

Thank you so very much for speaking the truth Representative Alan Grayson.

You sir, are saying what the majority of Americans see and feel is wrong with the Tea Party and the fringe Republicans.

They have had a free pass from the mainstream media for far too long !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Mr. Bashir are wrong !!!!!!!

but I would have preferred if a tea party leader had come on the show and protested bitterly that they haven't murdered anyone yet.

The hate speech comparisons are valid. The voter suppression and fear tactics are valid and they should have talked more about those racist policies promoted as law. The comparisons to murder and terrorism are a leap and distract from the more important policy issues and one of them should have steered it towards policy.

But how do we know for sure? How do we know that the Teabaggers weren't responsible for the murder of Dr Tiller or some of the shooting sprees we have had. And how do we know if they have encouraged and supported people to commit racist crimes? How do we know if they will commit a crime tomorrow?

Even the KKK started with just rhetoric before they moved on to murder.
