... giving huge tax cuts to the rich which are offset by higher REGRESSIVE taxes at the local and state level. Non-rich Republicans are, in effect, voting to pay rich peoples' taxes for them. How dumb is that?

As of now I'm only able to identify 2 types repukes, the old rich white bigots, and the dirt poor stupid bigots, like the one pictured above.

12. There is a third (middle class) group

The religious fundamentalists. Many of them are not rich or poor, but are desperate to make sure you and everyone around you does what they want you to do at all times. The rich are easy to understand (they want more money and power), the poor bigots are the most frustrating but also easy to understand (they fear everything different so can be consistently counted on to vote against their own interests), and the religious in the middle are the worst (they fear everything and want money and power). Overall a pretty loathsome trinity.

Most of them aren't anywhere near rich. The typical megachurch is absolutely filled with the middle class. This is another group that can't stop voting against it's own interests. Unfortunately, they perceive their interests to be whatever the church leaders and the guy at the pulpit say they are. The fundies are the most ridiculously annoying group. They should all be voting progressively for their own well-being, but they can't as they are unable to cope with anyone who doesn't think the way they do. So they combine a bewildering voting history with high-volume self righteousness and a whole lot of crazy. Economically, this is the group liberals should be able to make the most inroads with, but socially they are so far away from good sense that many just can't be reasoned with. Maddening.

Glad you're here! I always figured that people vote republi-CON because they think if they Just. Keep. On. Voting. republi-CON, they, too will be rich someday.

But this pretty well covers it, too.

of Republican voter. She's a single issue voter, and the issue is abortion. When my daughter was born, her 1st question was who was my Ob-Gyn and did I make sure he didn't do abortions. No Dem. will ever get her vote even though she is stupidly voting against her own self-interest.

That their ONLY issue. No point even trying to reason with them about other things, that's the only one they base their vote on.

is very easy, you tell people that rich people will create jobs if you let them keep more of their money. Rich people are the job creators, "never worked for a poor man in my life". I listened to a very good debate between a diehard repub and a true Independent at my job the other day... both of them average middle class and the Indy made this point, Look you see the rich are not creating all the jobs that these tax cuts they got were supposed to create, so lets try this... We tax the crap out of them, if the business owners start to shed jobs if the economy doesn't improve then stand up with your Repub friends and put 100 percent blame on the Democrats. The repub agreed.
