. . . Rick Santorum will remind us that Robertson is a Protestant and, saying that the old institution, like the Crusades, got a "bad rap", suggest the full weight of the the Spanish Inquisition be brought to bear on him.

Rick won't tolerate heresy from nobody.

Robertson goes up a few points in my book for giggling like a prurient teenager at the question.

For instance, he embraces creationism and rejects evolution, and rejects those of the Catholic CHurch's social teachings that liberals find congenial, such as protection of workers and the poor, social assistance, etc. He's also an obsessive homeschooler, something much more common for Protestant fundamentalists than Catholics, who tend to be happy with Catholic schools if they don't send their kids to public. While he's railed against the mainline Protestant churches, the fundamentalists are his people.

The Catholics I've known are uptight about a lot of things, but Santorum seems uptight about everything. He acts much more like a fundy.

The world will get so weird you won't recognize it.
