Papantonio: Washington Gridlock A Blessing For The Rich

Study after study has confirmed that our current Congress is one of the most dysfunctional in modern history. While this gridlock has been a disaster for the middle class, it has been a boon for the wealthiest Americans. Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio explains why that is with Joshua Holland, senior digital producer at BillMoyers.com.

which came into existence under Bush and the rubber stamp Congresses from 2001-2007.

If Reid had ended the filibuster at the beginning of 2009, most of those policies could have been reversed.

The 1% got enough power and influence to own the politicians and radically tilt the playing field heavily in their favor. They do want government to collect taxes from the 99% so they can get it through government contracts. They now have so much power the ZMIC was able to start a war (Iraq)! They decreased regulation and starved the agencies in charge of enforcement. At the same time they got the revolving door from government to private industry spinning so fast it is a blur! They own the media to brainwash and divide us so that we fight each other while they continue unmolested.
They barely touched on the complicity of the Democrats that Mike calls the Birkenstock Democrats. I just say they are bought off the same as the entire Republican Party. Mike names the handful of true Democratic politicians that actually give a Damn, but they are too few to make a difference legislatively!
I will keep saying this, WE NEED PUBLICLY FUNDED ELECTIONS AND COMPLETE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!! This is the only way out and it will have to be fought for long and hard! Are we ready for this? Will you get out and march, spread the word, and fight for our country? This is not a Democrat issue, Republicans in the 99% should support this as well. Unfortunately, most of them are too hardened to the constant brainwashing, which is designed to make and keep them angry at us b/c we are to blame for things getting shitty according to the propaganda they are fed. Maybe more will wake up if we can achieve a critical mass where our message can get through!

Citizens United, where the Supremes narrowly said $$ talks. My friends, corporations ain't people. These are the political root issues that we need to prioritize, unless these happen, we're just wasting our precious time for nothing.
