Burka Avenger is a multi-award winning Pakistani animated television
series created and directed by famous Pakistani rock star and social activist,
Aaron Haroon Rashid (AKA Haroon). It was produced at Unicorn Black Studios
in Islamabad, Pakistan and currently airs on Geo Tez of Geo Network TV.
The show features Jiya, an "inspirational teacher" whose alter ego is a
burka-wearing superheroine. Jiya uses "Takht Kabaddi", a special martial art
that incorporates books and pens, to fight crime. "Smart, colorful and provocative,
this Pakistani-produced television program about a super-heroine sends a clear
message about female empowerment that has the potential to affect an entire
generation. The Urdu language series first aired on 28 July 2013.

Yes, this does bring back fond memories of mine growing up as a schoolkid in Japan. I wanted to be a Ninja when I grew up. Heck - we even made our own Shurikens, or Ninja Stars, and threw them at trees for target practice. Yep, there was a lot of Ninja culture in this video, right down to the training of the psychic senses to detect projectiles with the eyes closed.
