The goal was end combat operations and withdraw our forces from Iraq. The goal was accomplished.
Ten years is long enough. We should have never invaded. But we did.
There are no realistic steps the Obama administration could have taken to prevent the formation of ISIS, short of continuing our military occupation beyond the agreed on withdrawal date. Or maybe we could just invade the entire middle east?
What's your suggestion?
