And might I add that helping eliminate or decrease poverty does not require doing away with capitalism. If we imposed and enforced laws that decreased corruption, both in the private and public sector, the middle class would grow and the numbers of poor would decrease. Capitalism would become healthier. Innovation would be increased and our society would be better.

We need laws that severely limit the ability of our politicians to move in and out of the private sector, receive favors from the private sector and do favors for the private sector. That is a tough thing to do, but we have to find a way to do it.

We also need laws that limit monopolies and that encourage industrial development and corporate responsibility with regard to taxes and wages in the US. We also need to pay fair prices for commodities and raw materials so that the citizens of countries that provide them to us can also have healthier societies, healthier economies and contribute to the innovation and peace we need in the world.

Following the laws we already have in place, putting many of the regulations back in place and maybe SCOTUS not treating entities like people would certainly help.

Common Cause, as far as I know, is doing the most to try to get money out of politics. It is the most important thing we have to do.

Nice comment. Don't know if you have written a post that expands on it but, if not, you should.
